Day 15 - Hamilton

The Tourists departed at 8:30 am for the 25-30 minute drive to Hamilton.  Two draws today, the second of which will have all 5 teams playing.  Team Anderson has the bye in the morning draw.

The drive, as usual, included morning class.  Morning class is a morning bus drive ritual that includes gin & tonics, whisky or screwdrivers.

The Tourists dropped 8 points this morning. 

The Tourists were served a wonderful soup and sandwich lunch with very large portions of very tasty soup.





Looking out the window of the restaurant at the Hamilton Ice Arena, you can see the family mausoleum of the Duke of Hamilton. 

The arena sits on the palace ground of the Hamilton Palace. The palace was demolished between 1921 and 1926 because the structural integrity of the palace was undermined by coal mines dug underneath the palace. More detail on Hamilton Palace can be found here:

After the second draw, the Tourists were treated to a wonderful buffet dinner. After dinner, they performed their “entertainment”.  After their entertainment, the Scots told the Tourists a series of very entertaining jokes and stories. 






Tomorrow, the Tourists head out in the morning for Stirling and the National Curling Academy.
