Day 23 - Edinburgh
Kelso Abbey was founded in the 12th century by Tironensien Abbey where the Tweed River and Teviot Waters converge. The Abbey was destroyed in 1540s under the order of King Henry VIII.
That is Floors Castle in the distance. It was built in the 1720s for Duke John.
At 11:00 am, the Tourists boarded the coach for the 2 hour trip to Edinburgh which allowed us to get our last view of the bonnie Scottish countryside and our first views of Edinburgh proper.
At about 12:30 pm the Tourists arrived at Curl Edinburgh at Murrayfield, located next to Murrayfield Stadium, home of Scottish Rugby. The Tourists were met with a Guard of Honor ceremony that included Olympic Silver Medalist Bruce Mouat.
Upon arrival, the Tourists were treated to a tasty lunch of soup, sandwiches and tasty sweets upstairs at Curl Edinburgh.

In the final games of the Herries-Maxwell competition, the Tourists gained 10 points. That means that the Tourists have won the Herries-Maxwell Trophy with a lead of 173 shots.

After a quick drink with their opponents, the Tourists headed to check in to their hotel, the Leonardo Edinburgh Murrayfield Hotel. After a quick refresh, the Tourists headed to the Baberton Golf Club for dinner with their Murrayfield hosts.
The Edinburgh hosts were quick to be sure that the Tourists each had a libation.
Leland Rich provided the thanks from the Tourists and gave Robin Copland a gift from the Tourists.
The evening concluded with the Tourists provided their “entertainment”.
The guests then serenaded the Tourists with a rendition of “Flower of Scotland”
A bit more socialization ensued before the Tourists finally headed onto the coach for the ride back to the Leonardo Hotel.
Tomorrow, the Tourists have another lie-in followed by a tour of Edinburgh at 11 am, an exhibition game against the RCCC, and the tour’s closing reception in the evening.
